Photographs from Iceland

Two weeks, two Germans, two Kiwis and one SUV, this was bound to be an experience. June 2011 started with me being bundled into a SUV with my wife and two good friends from Würzburg, with our tents and a rough plan to travel around the circumference of Iceland. Strong winds and very fine volcanic ash from Eyjafjallajökull made Iceland a challenge to shoot.
Selfoss

Krafla

Dettifoss

Svartifoss (Black Fall)
Svartifoss is a waterfall located in the Skaftafell National Park, Iceland. Surrounded by basalt columns, these were formed by lava that cools slowly.
Skull on the F570
Stumbled across this skull while I was wandering along the F570 in Iceland on my way to camp in Ólafsvík.
Route 1
Route 1 or the Ring Road is a main road in Iceland that runs around the island and connects all habitable parts of the country (the interior of the island being uninhabited).
Puffin
No Icelandic adventure would be complete without visiting the puffins in Vík.
